Berlin, 14 November 2018 - Scout24 has been honoured for its innovative data organisation with the BARC Best Practice Award in the category “medium-sized businesses”. With this award, the independent consulting and analyst firm Business Application Research Center (BARC) honors software projects that stand out for their economic benefits and exemplary implementation methods and procedures. Scout24 convinced the expert jury and the specialist audience with a federated data platform in a public cloud. The award ceremony took place on 8 November at the Big Data World in Frankfurt am Main.
The approach enables a lean central data organization that provides employees with access to the data they need while supporting business analysts and data scientists in every team within the company. The change in corporate culture is addressed by a “Data Landscape Manifesto”. It sets up the rules to combine the autonomy of data users with as few but important central rules as possible for the most flexible possible use of data. Scout24 wants to create new data products with this solution. A data catalogue provides a transparent overview of all data available throughout the company.

The prize in the categories of medium-sized and corporate solutions was awarded for the 13th time.
